Recipe | Tofu Fried Rice

225g   Firm Tofu
185g   Long-grain Rice 
2 cloves   Garlic
1 cup   Frozen Peas
2 medium   Carrots
45ml   Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon   Tahini or Peanut Butter
2 teaspoons   Brown Sugar
1 clove   Garlic
2 teaspoons   Chilli Sauce

 1 teaspoon 

 Sesame oil


  • Cook the rice. 1 cup rice to 2 cups salted water. Leave it to cool.
  • Prpare the sauce by whisking the soy sauce, tahini, brown sugar, garlic, chilli sauce and sesame oil together in a bowl.
  • Peel and chop the carrots into small cubes.
  • Finely chop the spring onions, saving the green parts for garnishing.
  • Heat some sesame oil in a wok and add the spring onions, carrots and peas.
  • Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Crumble in the tofu and add the sauce.
  • Add the cooked rice and mix it all together until it is coated in the sauce - approx. 4-5 minutes.
  • Serve garnished with the green parts from the spring onions and extra chilli sauce if you like it spicy!
