realpolitik
/reɪˈɑːlpɒlɪˌtiːk/
noun
a system of politics or principles based on practical rather than moral or ideological considerations.
Realpolitik refers to enacting or engaging in diplomatic or political policies based primarily on considerations of the given circumstances and factors, rather than strictly binding itself to explicit ideological notions or moral and ethical premises. In this respect, it shares aspects of its philosophical approach with those of realism and pragmatism. It is often simply referred to as pragmatism in politics, e.g. "pursuing pragmatic policies" or "realistic policies". (Wikipedia)
Oh hey there!
I'm Louise, but you can call me Fatty. I really like to read, and then I really like to tell people about what I've read. I started this book blog to give fellow readers some great recommendations and maybe introduce them to a writer or a genre that maybe they wouldn't have discovered on their own - because that's what reading is all about!
