The Thursday Murder Club return with another mystery. Richard Osman has written another thoroughly enjoyable crime thriller that you'll tear through in just a few sittings. In this new edition to the Thursday Murder Club series, the gang have to try to find out who has the codes to unlock a huge inheritance.
The greatest thing about these books is the characters. They're all so likeable and unique that you really feel like they're your friends, especially if you've read all the books in the series. The dialogue is full of Osman's usual wit and light-heartedness which offsets the darker side of the plot.
The pacing is excellent as usual, and there's always enough twists to keep the reader guessing. Osman writes from the heart and these books are warm and accessible without feeling dumbed down. They make you feel like you're catching up with an old friend. They're clever without being smug and always entertaining.
A very welcome addition to the series and a very welcome distraction from the disaster that is the world right now.
Oh hey there!
I'm Louise, but you can call me Fatty. I really like to read, and then I really like to tell people about what I've read. I started this book blog to give fellow readers some great recommendations and maybe introduce them to a writer or a genre that maybe they wouldn't have discovered on their own - because that's what reading is all about!
